Chemical Peel - Dermabrasion - Injectables - Laser Resurfacing
Chemical Peel
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Peels can be combined with other procedures such as facelifts for a younger look. They may be covered by insurance if they are performed for medical rather than cosmetic reasons.

Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion removes a layer of surface skin to improve the appearance of facial scarring due to acne, chicken pox, injury or other causes, as well as uneven pigmentation, wrinkles, sun damage, tattoos, age spots and certain kinds of skin lesions. The skin is frozen, typically with a spray, and then abraded with a high-speed rotary instrument for a dramatically smoother, fresher look. After the procedure it is normal to feel a sensation similar to sunburn for a week or so, at which time most patients are able to return to work. The newly revealed skin will likely appear pinker than usual for two to three months. Patients should be sure to adequately protect skin from sunlight.

Laser Resurfacing
The breakthrough in laser resurfacing has been the Fraxel laser. This new laser eliminates surface wrinkles, age spots and blemishes, tightens skin and improves acne scars with minimal recovery time. A FRAXEL treatment is not painful and results in some swelling and redness for 2-3 days. Often a series of 4-5 treatments are necessary to achieve the best results. Patients can resume normal activities after each treatment. The Fraxel can eliminate freckles and tighten skin on aging hands, neck and chest with great results. People with all skin types can have this procedure. These procedures are done under local topical (cream applied to skin) anesthesia.
We also use the Cynosure Elite laser which treats small and superficial leg veins, red vessels on face, pigmented spots, and removes hair on all skin types. Results have been impressive. CO2 LASER and Erbium laser treatments are also available but recovery is typically longer about 7-10 days and anesthesia is required.
In conjunction with laser treatments we also offer SCLEROTHERAPY which involves injection of small leg veins with a special FDA approved solution which makes them disappear. More than one treatment may be necessary depending on the severity of the condition.
